Manychat's flagship direct-response campaign — built on a single insight: every DM that goes unanswered is a sale that walks away. I wrote the 73-variant headline set anchored by the hero line.
The hero line
What I owned
The full headline architecture for paid social and PMAX — 73 variants stress-tested against the same insight. The landing page. The email sequence that picked up after the click.
The system
Every variant was built on the PMAX story-structure rule: long headlines = tension/setup, descriptions = payoff/proof. No line held both beats. Any random pairing of a long headline + description delivered a complete setup-and-proof story, which is what the algorithm needed to learn the audience.
What I learned
DR copy is engineering as much as it is writing. The hero line was the easy part. The 72 follow-on variants were where the actual job lived — every one had to ladder back to the same insight without sounding like a copy of the last one.
